The promenade continues through the Rialto bridge among the lively little stores, to go down into the Mercerie, the evocative name of antique commerce in Venice, a unique number of every kind of shining shop windows, still nowadays, a real paradise of shopping up to St Mark’s Square: international franchising, fashion brands, boutiques of famous Italian and worldwide stylists (Rolex, Gucci, Cartier, Krizia, etc.) and the typical handcrafts like the carnival masks and the Murano glass. Once in St Mark’s Square, the scenario is really breath-taking: the St Mark’s Basilica with its precious façade in mosaic and valuable marble, crowned by the Procuratie as if in an elegant living room ready to welcome the hosts under the porches and in the historical cafes.
